KISS Sidewinder Companion (the “App”) is a planning and record-keeping tool for divers. In short: the App works fully offline, we don’t track you, and we don’t sell your data.
You can use the App’s checklists, dive log, 3D unit, cell tracking and maintenance features entirely on your device without signing in. In that mode your data never leaves your phone and we collect nothing about you.
An account is optional and exists only to back up and sync your data across your devices. If you create one, we process:
We do not collect advertising identifiers, location, contacts or usage analytics, and we use no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
The App uses Bluetooth only to connect directly to your Shearwater dive computer to download your dive logs onto your device. This connection is local between your phone and your dive computer; we do not receive it.
Solely to provide the App: to authenticate you, and to store and sync the content you asked us to back up. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it.
Synced data is stored on our backend server. We share personal data only with infrastructure providers that host the service on our behalf, and only as needed to run it. We may disclose data if required by law.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted in the App or on this page.
The App supports your own procedures and training; it is not a substitute for your certification, your unit’s manual, or your own checks.
